Jerome Sessini is not my favourite photographer but I feel that his work has a certain amount of power that cannot be ignored due to the subject matter behind the images.

Sessini normally photographs the people that are affected by conflicts as well as photographing the conflicts themselves. Jerome uses many different techniques in his photography including shooting through mirrors, using negative space and photographing shadows.

Jerome although not being my favorite photographer I still really like his photography and often use it as inspiration. In this image you can see a man in full black cloths wearing a bright white mask which makes his face start to blend into the sky and sand. You can also see at the top of the image telephone wire. Jerome used an aperture of around f22 to get everything in the background in focus this brings out all the detail in the sand.

In this shot Jerome layered a few shots all into one this creates an image that gives your eyes a lot to look at meaning you look more into the image. I have always since looking at images like this looked out for any layering to take advantage of.

This is my favorite Jerome Sessini image I love the framing of the shot and the way he uses a broken mirror to frame his subject within the image.

Frame within a frame and obscuring the subject are 2 photographic techniques that i have recently started to fall in love with. I have taken a lot of images framing people within the frame which I will provide evendence for I will also keep this image in mind for my own documentary projects.
